From the Mind of Bob

What I think, what I hear, what I see

Mayday

Welcome to the end, just take a number
Just get used to the influence you’re under
It’s the same old story of
Wanting it all but it’s never enough
The more you know, you know, you know nothing

We walk like dead people who haven’t died yet
We ride like passengers without a pilot
We be losing our minds, but we all try to hide it
It’s hard to keep fighting when you’re barely surviving

We’ll never say, we’ll never say Mayday

Just wait in line for your rights and your privilege
Then follow the leader right off the cliffs edge
All your dreams are down below
Buried under broken bones
The more you know, you know, you know nothing

Three Days Grace - Mayday

I despise politics, politicians, and political parties. I don’t understand why people can’t think for themselves. While this song is not really a political song, Three Days Grace have captured the essence of how much of the country seems to operate these days. People line up to be told how to think and how to act. There are groups of people who willingly “follow the leader off the cliffs edge.” They may not be the most hard hitting lyrics, but very much how I view things these days. I am happy to stay in my lane, follow my beliefs, and be happy living my life. I have no control, nor do I want control, over how someone else thinks or acts. Live and let live!

My two favorite lines are: The more you know, you know, you know nothing – this line reminds me of people who like to hear themselves speak, and love to argue about anything. They just keep spouting their BS, not realizing that the more they talk, the more they prove that they know nothing.

We walk like dead people who haven’t died yet – this line makes me laugh. I see all sorts of people who appear to wander around aimlessly in life. They are too numb to reality that they are like zombies… just not the fun, brain-eating, killer kind that I fight in video games. 🤣🤣
